A: - This machine is not electrically powered, thus there is no BTU or KW specification.

Q: - The description mentions use of siphon in co2 tank.... But one of the answers to a question states any co2 tank can be used. Do you need a siphon? Does it provide better yields?

A: - I'm sorry if that is unclear. this unit does require a siphon on the tank. Any CO2 tank with a siphon can be used with this dry ice machine.

Q: - Could you tell me how much sensible heat this unit puts off? Would it be the equivalent of an ice maker?

A: - This product uses pressure regulators and valves to turn liquid or compressed CO2 into a solid block, it does not use electricity like a standard ice maker, and therefore does not put off any heat.

Q: - Do you have any specification for the kind of CO2 tank needed for this equipment ? Does the CO2 need to reach the dry ice machine in a liquid form ?

A: - The product is intended for use with a standard 50 pound cylinder of CO2. The regulator and hoses supplied with this product ensure that the CO2 reaches the dry ice machine in the correct fashion.

A: - Sublimation would depend upon the environment the blocks were placed in. Since this can vary widely we do not have a specification for the rate. A general rule of thumb is that when used correctly in a sealed cooler a one pound block of dry ice should last 2.5 hours.

Of the 3 places online that I visited, Amazon had the best price for the Thermosafe® dry ice machine. It was even cheaper than from the Thermosafe site itself. Another site that sells the machine had it for $215 more than Amazon and that did not include free shipping.
